You gotta love interviews that start with "you know this is just a formality right?" Wish getting a job after graduation would be this easy.

So yeah the HD has decided that I am necessary to the continued survival of the store, specifically the hardware dept. Gotta wait for the word from up above before they decide on my wage. So the possibility of Burbank has gone from zero to like maybe 50%. Still not sure if it will happen or not, some other things have to fall into place in the next few weeks for it to happen. If it doesn't by the 1st of November I will have to say that I won't be attending and have to catch TEH HEWLETT some other time. *sigh*

In other news, midterms are upon me and speaking of, I better jet so I can go fail....err pass, yes PASS (positive thinking yo...) another one.

I got a call back on one of my applications today and they want to set up an interview. Fingers crossed that I get this job otherwise I'll be seriously screwed come December and would have to move out of my apartment if I don't find a job, not to mention the Burbank trip going down the toobs. That may still not happen regardless of the job situation because of my stupid teeth and my stupid genetics that caused me to have crappy teeth and my crappy white trash upbringing that didn't allow for proper dental care (let alone proper medical care, but that's a whole nother bitchfest). Anywho face still hurts, enough to cause me to crap out on my second class this evening. Came home and watched X-Files instead. Now going to take Vicodin and veg out on the couch and watch some Next Gen. And yes it is hurting that badly.....

So much to my overwhelming dismay it looks like Mr. Shanks will not be attending the Burbank con this year. Just got a little e-mail thing from Creation where they stated that their last guest for Burbank is David Hewlett (not that I am complaining at all mind you).

So here's my thought process. I don't live more than an hour's flight from Chicago. I can flight up there and back again for $150. Day pass to Chicago for just Saturday is $30 bucks. Toss in food and begging someone to let me crash in their hotel for an overnight stay (I'd fly up very early Saturday morning and fly back just as early Sunday morning) and I think I could make it work.

So my question to pose to my oh so awesome f-list is this, is it crazy to do this? Just fly up for the day? I mean it's not just Michael, there are other folks (non celebrities) that I know will be in Chicago and I will miss. I just can't afford the tickets for the whole weekend, plus hotel and food, which is the main reason for not attending. But I certainly don't see any reason budget wise why I can't make it for one day. So crazy or not crazy? Honest opinions folks....

Quick! Before the lights go out, here's a link to what I have been working on all afternoon. http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/erinanderson/Burbank%202007/ the rest of my con pics from Burbank. Some 300 pics for the whole weekend, not too shabby. Liberal amounts of Joe F as he was quite lively and fun to photograph. Now I am off to do what little else I can do before I lose my lights for good today. Darn snow, stop falling!!!

Well I got all five rolls of Michael developed today, you can find them in my photobucket account http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/erinanderson/Burbank%202007/. I uploaded I think 83 pictures, I had to delete a few that just weren't postable. That's also where I will eventually upload all my Burbank pics once I get them all done, I have about 15 rolls left and little fundage in the tank, so it'll be a while. I'll be sure to post the links when I do get around to them. I ended up taking more rolls of Joe Flanigan then I thought I would. He was way more animated and relaxed this con than at any other ones that I have seen him at. Maybe he's getting more relaxed in his new role as a "star" maybe? Or possibly he just likes the smaller venue or being close to home. For whatever reason he was just a hoot and had me changing out roles like crazy to catch all of him. That and he looked darn good in that lumberjack shirt....now just unbutton it a few more buttons and we'll be in business. *cheeky grin*

Besides post on your LJ?? Well that and take a vicodin for the throbbing foot pain courtesy of my fab weekend in Burbank and the toddler who tossed her sippy cup RIGHT ON TOP OF MY FOOT midflight from LAX to Denver. Yeah nice aim kid. Damn it didn't hurt this bad all weekend long. Which I guess is a good thing, I wish it would have waited till after I got home so I could whine in the privacy of my own home darnit!!! At any rate I'll survive and I'll get around to transferring some of my GW posts on the Burbank thread to my LJ like tomorrow or something (after I sleep like ten hours) and get around to posting anything else I remember from the weekend.

Final thoughts for Burbank though. I am really glad I went even if it did break me financially. I had such a fun time, it was so laid back and relaxed, perfect for someone not quite in control of both feet yet. I might even try and make it back again next year....
